Last week, I documented the terrifying series of attacks on Chinese villagers that has left 28 people dead from hornet stings.

The hornets are a killer Asian species named “Vespa mandarinia.” Since some of you did not believe that the photo I have posted of them is real, I bring you yet another image of the gigantic hornets.

This photo has gone viral on Imgur since being uploaded yesterday. According to the Huffington Post, these are the queens of the hive.

However, even in regular working hornets, the stingers alone have an average length of 0.25 inch (0.6 cm).

At least 583 people have been stung in China starting July, some as many as 200 times. The effects of the stings include anaphylactic shock and kidney failure.
