InfoSonics launches a tablet with a funny name, aimed at the budget consumer

Naming tablet products seems a very peculiar endeavor for device manufacturers. Some have a decent way to go about it (Nokia Illusionist comes to mind, albeit the tablet has been cancelled), but others like to complicate things by adding useless stream of numbers and letters.

And then there’s the third category, device-makers that use utterly silly names for their products (Argos MyTablet pops in my stream of thought right off the bat). It’s the case of San Diego electronics company InfoSonics that just launched a basic slate model, dubbed the VeryKool KolorPad.

At the moment, we don’t know much about it terms of specs, except that it has a 7-inch screen, 3MP camera, runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and is powered by a dual-core processor. Apart from that, we know the VeryKool tablet is 3G capable for 850/1900MHz bands and will also get net 2G speeds for GSM bands 850/900/1800/1900MHz.

Last but not least, the tablet is sustained by a mediocre 2,500 mAh battery and will come shipping with a $150 / €111 price-tag.
