Without a doubt, a gaming controller inspired by a title comic book fans will go nuts over is somewhat of a sure hit, and that's exactly what the people over at PDP must have thought when developing the Versus Figthing Pad – Marvel Edition, that will arrive just in time for the official release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Practically, what this very interesting gaming accessory does is extend the virtual universe created by the respective game beyond the TV's display and into a more physical realm.

And that's mostly because it packs some pretty impressive comic book-inspired art all over its body, users being able to find the characters in the game right under their fingertips.

According to PDP, their Marvel Versus Fighting Pad is a “wired six button face controller that is specifically designed for AAA fighting games on the Xbox 360 and classic games that are featured on Xbox Live.”

That's really interesting to mention here is that PDP took quite a few design cues from arcade machines when designing their controller, given the fact that micro switch activators have been used for the thumb stick and the front 6 buttons, thus providing an enhanced level of realism and a feeling closer to the one offered by real arcade games.

And since we're on this topic, it's also important to mention that the thumb stick has been specifically custom designed and constructed to act like a real arcade joystick, although the overall level of comfort it provides during use has been somewhat improved.

The Versus Fighting Pad – Marvel Edition for Xbox 360 from PDP is set to go on sale on the 14'th of February and sells for around 40 US dollars, which is quite an attractive price point, given the features it has in store.
