Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is gearing up for the release of a new tablet PC on its airwaves, one that would offer support for its 4G network, namely the Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE.

The wireless services provider already went official with plans to add the new device to its offering, but failed to provide a specific date for when that might happen.

However, some of the latest reports on this suggest that Verizon and Samsung might bring the LTE tablet to shelves as soon as July 28th, if all goes according to plan.

This means that those who have been eagerly waiting for the new LTE device to make an appearance on shelves at Verizon will be able to purchase it as soon as this Thursday.

When released, the tablet PC should sport a price tag of $529 for the 16GB model, and $629 for the 32GB version. Both require signing of a 2-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The said release date for the tablet PC can be seen in the leaked document that was published today on Droid-life.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was unveiled to the world at CTIA Wireless as the second version of Samsung's 10'' Android-based tablet PC.

The original was re-named to Galaxy Tab 10.1v, and arrived only in a small number of markets.

The tablet PC sports a slim design, a large touchscreen display, and a fast 1GHz dual-core application processor.

It runs under Google's Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system and offer support for a wide range of services, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 also sports a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, as well as a 2MP camera on the front, to enable video calling.

In addition to LTE, it would also sport WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity when made available at Verizon, as well as built-in GPS receiver, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
