Verizon launched a new budget LTE slate

If you’re looking for a relatively inexpensive tablet with 4G LTE support, Verizon has just the thing for you, coming in the form of the 8-inch Ellipsis.

The tablet will not bring too much in terms of specs, but you can pick it up from the carrier for $250 / €200 outright, or $150 / €120 if you want to embark on a 2-year contract with the company.

The Verizon slate delivers 1280 x 800 pixel resolution on an 8-inch panel and has two cameras (5MP on the back and 1.3MP up in front) and an 1.5GHz quad-core processor fitted with 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD).

Ellipsis is manufactured by Quanta and it also takes advantage of 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The carrier claims the battery inside (5000 mAh) is good enough to sustain up to 14 hours of life on the tablet, which is pretty swell.

Interestingly, Verizon doesn’t mention which version of Android it will be throwing on board of the new Ellipsis, but we have to assume it’s of the Jelly Bean variety.

The company also continues to sell the smaller version of the newcomer, the 7-inch Ellipsis, which is offered for just 50 bucks with a 2-year contract.
