Deploys a new cell site in the area

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless announced recently an expansion of its 3G network in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. According to the company, the new expansion is expected to offer it the possibility to meet increasing demand for wireless voice, 3G multimedia and Internet access on its network.

The wireless operator also notes that the new investments it made in the Berkshire County, Massachusetts, are part of its attempt to improve its 3G airwaves all around the country, so as to offer better services to its customers. The expansion it reported now is made via the deployment of a new cell site that should improve connectivity and 3G data coverage along Route 8 in Otis and Tolland, and users in surrounding areas will also benefit from the enhancement.

The expanded 3G data coverage in Otis should offer Verizon Wireless customers who use netbooks or smartphones the possibility to: Download and use cool apps, from mobile social networking portals to streaming radio Browse the web to keep up with news, sports, stock quotes, Hollywood gossip and more at faster speeds Stream must-see video Share emails with friends, family and co-workers that include picture and video attachments Download and play vivid, rousing 3D games Quickly download and play music favorites from Top 40 to Classical Work on-the-go with rapid file sharing The investments Big Red is making in its nationwide network should result in better service provision for its users, including enhanced Mobile Broadband and V CAST offerings. The company's 3G high-speed wireless broadband network can deliver average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps, Verizon notes.

As for the V CAST: Video and Music and V Cast Music with Rhapsody services, they enable users benefit from full song tracks downloads, from playing cutting-edge 3D games, or from streaming video clips directly on their phones. Moreover, the latter service puts together V CAST and the desktop solution Rhapsody so that users can enjoy unlimited access to music on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players, and more.
