It seems that Verizon Wireless customers will soon have some reason to rejoice, as the carrier is reported to plan on cutting back the prices for some of the devices it has in its offering. According to the news on the web, the mobile phone operator will offer discounts for a series of its handsets, as well as for a few broadband access modems.

The devices that the company is reported to plan on offering for lower prices are from Verizon Wireless, LG, Casio, Motorola, Samsung and RIM lineups. These handsets are already on a rebate sheet that is stated to be available until January 31st. The new cycle discount is expected to start as soon as today, with a $20 rebate for the devices, which is reported to add to the current mail-in rebate they already feature.

The list of the handsets that are expected to see smaller prices in the carrier's lineup includes BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry 8830 world edition, Casio G’zOne Boulder, LG VX5500, Samsung U810 Renown, Motorola W755, Motorola Vu204, Motorola Vu30 Rapture, Motorola Krave zn4, Motorola Adventure V750, Motorola Z6c and Z6cx, Verizon Wireless Cdm8950, and the Verizon Wireless Blitz. Besides these, the Verizon Wireless Pc5750 EV-DO Rev.A PC Card and the Verizon Wireless Um175 EV-DO Rev.A USB Modem are also expected to see lower prices as of today.

If the rumor proves true, Verizon Wireless customers will be able to acquire these devices with a $70 mail-in rebate, which has been increased from the $50 one the handsets previously sported. If the new rebate sheet does not start today, as the news suggested, perhaps those considering going for a new phone will think about waiting a little longer, so that they could purchase a new device for a lower price. Just check on the company's site to find out more on the cost of these phones.
