Verizon Wireless and Veoh, a provider of Internet TV services, announced the launch of a Veoh channel on V CAST. The Veoh video channel on V CAST will offer Verizon Wireless' customers access to the "Best of Veoh" video collection that includes animation, comedy, entertainment, drama and Web-series video.

The programming available on V CAST was selected specifically for the mobile audience from video clips published on Veoh.com and it will be continually updated with new videos. Veoh offers a wide selection of video content from more than 85,000 video publishers - ranging from independent producers to some of the best known brands in music, sports, politics and entertainment - that have chosen Veoh as a distribution platform.

Besides the V CAST channel, Verizon Wireless and Veoh are planning to bring Veoh video content to Verizon's consumer broadband services and FiOS TV, marking the first time Veoh content will be available on three different screens. The companies said that the Veoh channel is expected to land on the VerizonSurround broadband entertainment portal this fall; while the version for FiOS TV, Verizon's next generation TV service, is planned for launch later this year. As part of the relationship, Verizon is also advertising on VeohTV, a specialized video browser and digital video recorder application for discovering, viewing and managing online video.

To access the Veoh video channel, Verizon Wireless' customers must own a V CAST-compatible cell phone. The V CAST service can be accessed both on a daily subscription basis by paying a fee of $3.00 for 24 hours of use or on a monthly subscription basis by signing up for the V CAST VPak, available for $15.00 per month. The subscription includes unlimited basic video, with no airtime charges for downloading, streaming or watching V CAST content, but application download fees apply for 3D games and premium video. Verizon Wireless' customers can find the Veoh channel in the Net's Best section on all V CAST-enabled phones.
