Although Verizon published information on its website about an unannounced pre-paid unlimited plan called Unleashed, details about the service offering were scarce at the time of the launch.

In the meantime, further details about the Unleashed plan have emerged, which points to the fact that the offer is available only in several locations in the United States.

In this regard, one of the carrier's officials stated that the service is currently only available in the “Verizon Wireless defined regions of Florida (east of Panama City) and in Southern California.”

Apparently, the official avoided any reference regarding whether or not the carrier will expand the offering to additional regions in the States.

Even though the carrier initially stated that the Unleashed service is available everywhere there is Verizon Wireless network coverage, it seems that it is only compatible with three handsets that are not directly available from Verizon.

The Unleashed pre-paid service offers unlimited talk, text and web for only $50 per month.

In addition, the carrier offers daily rates from $0.99 that includes unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling, anytime voice minutes for 10 cents each, and texts for 10 cents each, up to $1.99 per day that provides unlimited voice minutes and texts for 2 cents each.

Furthermore, customers can also choose to be charged per-minute and per-text. Verizon's Unleashed service offers rates like 25 cents per minute and 20 cents per text for this option.

Besides the $50 monthly plan, which includes everything unlimited, data is charged at an additional $0.99 per day for the $1.99, $0.99 and by-use plans.

As mentioned above, Unleashed is only compatible with three handsets, the LG Accolade, LG Cosmos and Pantech Caper, which seem to be mostly offered through Best Buy stores in Southern California, but it might not be limited to these.
