Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has started delivering a new software update for the owners of Galaxy Tab 2 tablet PCs on its network, and is pushing it to both the 7.0 and 10.1-inch flavors.

The new update is meant to bring the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system flavor to both devices, along with a series of various other enhancements, different for each of them.

Owners of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 slate on the wireless carrier’s network will receive the update as version JZO54K.I705VRBLL2, and will enjoy the entire range of new features that Jelly Bean has been packed with.

Furthermore, they will also take advantage of a series of Sync & Connect email updates, as well as an improved Backup Assistant & Media, and of faster and smoother screen transitions.

Other changes included in the update involve Google Maps enhancements, now with offline maps, Voice Typing Support, Free Style Widget, widget size adjustments, various Google Security Patches, and the option to view movies purchased from the Google Play Store.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet PC at Verizon, it will taste the new Jelly Bean update as software version JZO54K.I915VRBMA3, with the following enhancements packed inside:

- Operating system has been updated to version 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) - VPN Client has been moved to the Settings Menu. - Event list frame has been added to Calendar - Google Security Patches added for additional security. - Zooming solution in the user interface has been implemented -Translucent icons can now be non-translucent or opaque - Sync and Connect email server has been updated - Improvements have been made to Back Up Assistant Plus - Music player application has been updated

According to a post on Android Central, the update has started to arrive on devices a few days ago, and is being pushed over-the-air.
