14 DAY TRIAL // We reported last week that Verizon plans to add the Nexus 6 to its portfolio of Android smartphones. However, at that time there were no details on the exact release date of the device, just the promise that it will come very soon.
The good news is we've been able to learn more information on Verizon Nexus 6's launch and aside from the release date we now know the price of the smartphone.
Once again, the folks over at Phandroid have been able to obtain inside info on the Verizon Nexus 6, which claims the device will go on sale online from March 12.
Potential customers will also be able to grab the Nexus 6 from Verizon's brick and mortar stores beginning March 19. Moving on to price, Nexus 6 will surely not be a cheap smartphone.
According to some internal documents provided to Phandroid, Verizon Nexus 6 will be available for $249.99 with a new 2-year agreement or free with Verizon's Edge plan for $29.16 a month.
Those who don't want to be tied with a long-term contract will also be able to purchase the Nexus 6 from Verizon for no less than $699. That is exactly the price of the Samsung Galaxy S6, which is likely to arrive at the Big Red next month.
6-month Google Play Music trial with every purchase
It's also worth mentioning customers will only be able to get the 32GB version in Midnight Blue color flavor. Additional models may be added, but there's no confirmation yet. Last but not least, those who purchase the smartphone will also receive a 6-month Google Play Music trial.
However, one of the most exciting new features included inside Verizon Nexus 6 is Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. If we are to believe the internal document published online, Verizon Nexus 6 will be the first to come with Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box.
Since Google will be able to bring the Nexus 6 with Android 5.1 Lollipop at Verizon, it makes sense that the new version of the OS will be deployed to other Nexus devices around the same date.
