Verizon has recently added a new Samsung phone to its offering, the Trance, and it seems that now another device from the Korean phone maker will make it to its airwaves, the Samsung Smooth U350, which was approved by FCC back in January. According to the mobile phone operator, the new Samsung Smooth U350 “appeals to tweens, teens and parents alike.”

One thing that is for sure is that the Samsung Smooth looks like a rather attractive phone, which sports a flip form factor, as well as GPS capabilities and support for VZ Navigator, yet it can't be considered anything other than a basic clamshell that actually comes with a reduced number of advanced features.

A look at the specification list of the handset shows a 1.9-inch internal display that can provide a 128 x 160 pixel resolution, and a VGA photo camera, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, Voicemail and Email capabilities, a web browser, speakerphone and EV-DO connectivity, though no 3G can be spotted with it.

The Samsung Smooth U350 measures 3.78 x 1.87 x 0.76 inches and weighs 3.35 ounces, while including a battery that can provide up to 300 minutes of talk time, as well as up to 336 hours of standby time. For what it's worth, the new mobile phone can easily prove a great option in case one is looking for a small, simple and affordable clamshell.

While naming it affordable we actually mean a $29.99 price tag that the Samsung Smooth U350 sports upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier. In addition, Verizon also offers it for $99.99 with a one-year agreement, as well as free of contract, but with a price set at $199.99 in this case. More information on the flip phone can be found on Verizon's website.
