14 DAY TRIAL // Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just went official with plans for having the new iPhone 4S available on its network starting with Friday, October 14th, and to make the new device available for pre-order on its airwaves starting with tomorrow, October 7th.
The wireless carrier has already put up a special web page where users can register their interest in the new mobile phone, and where the handset will also go on pre-order starting with 3:01 a.m. EDT on Friday, October 7th.
Moreover, the carrier announced that it has already lowered the price tag for the already available iPhone 4 16 GB and 32 GB models, and the availability of an iPhone 4 8 GB model, which features a price tag of $99.99 (around 75 Euros).
“Verizon Wireless customers have embraced iPhone 4 on our network and we fully expect the enthusiasm will continue to grow for iPhone 4S,” said Dan Mead, president and chief executive officer for Verizon Wireless.
“With more and more customers depending on their iPhone every day, it is important that they have the device they can count on and a network that delivers. As millions of customers can attest - reliability matters.”
The new device arrives on shelves with Apple’s dual-core A5 application processor, as well as with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, and an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full 1080p HD resolution video recording.
The new device runs under the iOS 5 operating system, which comes with over 200 new features when compared to the previous platform releaseand offers access to iCloud, the new set of free cloud services from Apple.
The new iPhone 4S will be priced starting at $199.99 (around 150 Euros) for the 16 GB flavor, $299.99 (about 228 Euros) for the 32 GB model, and $399.99 (approximately 300 Euros) for the 64 GB iteration. These are the prices available with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.
