Android enthusiasts who want to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but cannot afford to pay Verizon’s subsidized price should head over to Wirefly, as the retailer offers a better deal on the smartphone.

While Verizon Wireless has the Galaxy Nexus for $300 (230 EUR) with a new two-year agreement, Wirefly only asks $230 (180 EUR) for the handset.

Obviously, customers are required to commit to a long-term contract, but the phone is $70 (55 EUR) cheaper.

Verizon customers who already signed for a two-year agreement can upgrade their contract via Wirefly and get the Galaxy Nexus for $250 (195 EUR).

Customers who purchase the Samsung Galaxy Nexus via Wirefly also receive free standard shipping via FedEx and Verizon’s limited time offer “Double Your Data.”

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone available on the market and offers users several innovative features, including zero shutter lag for the camera.

In this regard, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, face detection and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The Galaxy Nexus comes with a stunning 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that boasts 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and oleophobic surface for extra protection against fingerprints.

The phone is powered by a dual core TI OMAP 4460 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit that offers a smoother gaming experience.

There is no microSD card slot for memory expansion, but the 32GB storage amount should satisfy most users. There’s also an unlocked version of the Galaxy Nexus which is available for only $690 (535 EUR) at Expansys USA.

The smarpthone’s 1850 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 150 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time.
