Verizon has officially announced its own branded Ellipsis 7 tablet, just a few days ago. But the company’s statement didn't bring much information about the specifications of the device.

However, the slate is now on sale on the carrier’s website and can be purchased for the price announced before, that of $149 / €111 with a two-year contract. If you don’t want any strings attached, you can still buy the device for an affordable price, that of $249 / €184.

Now that the device has appeared in store, the (semi) complete spec list has been made available, at last. According to the listing, the Ellipsis 7 features a 7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

The device is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, but nothing else is revealed about it. 8GB of storage are provided on board, but users can add more via the SD card slot. Verizon is obviously packing some additional software with the slate like Amazon, iHeartRadio, RedBox and VZ Navigator.

Being an Android slate, customers will be allowed to tap into the Google Play Store and take advantage of all the other Google services. 4G LTE support is also provided and a 3.2MP rear camera.

On top of that, Verizon is also providing users with some accessories like a ruggedized protective case and a Zaggkeys Bluetooth keyboard case.

In yesterday’s statement, the carrier claimed that the slate is “easy to carry” and can be used for work, play, reading, research and much more.

The other day, the carrier also mentioned that this would be the first device from the Ellipsis family to show its face and that others will follow soon.

It will be interesting to see if Verizon manages to attract some customers with the offerings because the Ellipsis 7 specifications are pretty average with nothing to stand out.
