Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is getting ready for the release of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Note II smartphones on its network, and has already provided some info on what the new software release will include.

The update will arrive on smartphones featuring build number JZO54K.I605VRAMC3 and baseband version I605VRAMC3.

The Android 4.1.2 OS update will provide users with a series of security patches, but other enhancements will also be available through the update, it seems.

The new software will add support for IPV6 end-to-end when using the Mobile Hotspot application, will deliver Exchange email syncing enhancements, and will fix the oversized text in S-Note when the phone is rotated to landscape mode.

The name of the Group Cast preloaded application has been changed to Group Play, Back Up Assistant Plus! now supports a setting to select the auto-back up time, and duplicate calendar sync events with applications like Facebook have been removed.

The release notes for the Galaxy Note II update also show enhancements coming from Verizon:

- Download images via Enterprise Exchange email - Download ring back tones through VZTones version 5.1.2 preloaded application - Access downloaded languages on the Samsung keyboard - Use Multi Window support for more applications (YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Kindle, Viewdini, Google Maps and Talk) - Search or filter by Name in the dialer screen - The snooze option in the Alarm Clock app is set to “ON” by default - All Alarm Clock options are now viewable without the need to press the “more” button - Added a Notification Panel editing menu under Display Settings - Transfer content from your old device seamlessly with the Smart Switch">Samsung Smart Switch application, now supported

The new software should start arriving on Galaxy Note II devices on Big Red’s network in the near future, yet no specific info on when users might expect it has been provided as of now. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
