Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is expected to make some changes in regard to the mail-in rebates it usually has in place for high-end devices available for purchase on its airwaves.

According to leaked documents from the wireless services provider, its customers might very soon find themselves in the position of paying the final subsidized price for a high-end device, without the hassle of mail-in rebates.

The said document, brought to the web on BGR, shows that the new policy would be applied starting today, January 31st.

The new Verizon Wireless rebate sheet, which got published on the news site, shows that all high-end smartphones priced $150 and above would be affected by this change.

For example, BlackBerry Storm2, along with the Motorola DROID X and the DROID Pro would be among these handsets, as they were removed from the carrier's rebate sheet.

Other handsets might also be added to the list, the aforementioned document shows. Of course, the price tag for these mobile phones would actually remain the same, but the upfront cost is lower.

Basically, the new policy removes from the equation the mail-in rebate, which was usually sent back in a few weeks. The final cost of the device is payed the very moment one makes the purchase.

Rumors on Verizon planning on making the said changes emerged into the wild before, but it is only now that specific info on the matter surfaced.

As stated above, the said change would actually affect all of the smartphones priced above $150, and those who would head to the wireless operator's website should be able to learn more on the matter.

It seems that the mobile phone carrier is planning on making its devices even more appealing than before, so as to attract more customers to its network.

With the imminent launch of iPhone 4 on its airwaves, complemented by the new mail-in rebate policy, it would certainly manage to do so.
