Verizon Wireless offers from now on two new applications for its BlackBerry customers: Mobile Banking and Field Force Manager.

Mobile Banking will allow users to have non-stop access to their financial information and the features and capabilities of the application include:

- Bill Payment, for viewing and paying bills;

- Access to your account balance and transaction history;

[admark=1]- Transfers - you can transfer money between accounts from the same financial institution;

- Mobile History, for viewing your last five mobile transactions.

Mobile Banking works with the following RIM smartphones: BlackBerry Curve 8330, BlackBerry 8830 World Edition and BlackBerry Pearl 8130. The application itself is free, but there might be data charges.

In order to use Mobile Banking on your BlackBerry handset, you need to have a financial account at one of the institutions that support the service. These include SunTrust, Wachovia, America First Credit Union (AFCU), FirstBank, Synovus, Regions, BECU, Arvest, USAA, Bancorp South and South Financial.

Mobile Banking can be downloaded directly on your BlackBerry, by visiting the VZ Start home page and clicking on the Mobile Banking link.

Besides BlackBerries, Mobile Banking is also available on a range of Get It Now-enabled devices, like LG Voyager, LG Venus and MOTORAZR2 V9m.

Field Force Manager, the other novelty offered by Verizon for BlackBerry users, is a mix between powerful Web-based applications and mobile software. In the words of Rob Miller, vice president of marketing for Verizon Wireless, "Field Force Manager helps businesses be more responsive to their customers. The availability of this application on the BlackBerry Curve equips mobile workers with everything they need to stay connected to their counterparts in the field and in the office."

Field Force Manager is offered for as little as $15 per month, but only with a BlackBerry Internet Service plan that includes unlimited e-mail. For the moment, the app is available only for BlackBerry Curve 8330, but Verizon's other BlackBerry handset will soon get it too.
