The latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich for Galaxy Nexus leaked earlier this month, though Verizon Wireless did not approve the deployment of the update until recently.

Last week the update emerged online once again, but this time Galaxy Nexus owners could actually install it manually.

However, the folks over at Droid-Life have just learned that Verizon Wireless has actually published instructions for installing this update.

The official changelog of the update has been published as well, and it’s almost certain that the carrier approved it and we’ll probably be seeing this one being pushed within the next few days.

According to the changelog we now know all the changes that will be added with the IMM76K software update. Several bugs have been addressed and quite a few improvements will be available as well.

For example, the email messages will display properly when the text size is set to large, and when sending a multimedia message to an Outlook email address, the file extension will send, allowing the recipient to successfully open an image.

There are two email issues that have been corrected as well, so users won’t have to worry about it anymore:

- Successfully deleted emails on the device will be deleted from the desktop as well; - Successfully send text messages without experiencing network connectivity issues.

Moreover, updates have been made to prevent the display from freezing or becoming unresponsive, and users will be able to complete calls without experiencing choppy audio, clicking noises and one-way audio noises.

Other highlights of the IMM76K software update included the following:

- Successfully turn on Wi-Fi using the Power Control widget; - Successfully access Voicemail and other automated systems without error; - When viewing a Calendar reminder or appointment, you will now be able to view the full notes associated with the appointment; - A down arrow has been added in the Calendar application that will expand the calendar message body, allowing you to view the entire message.

The update is not yet available, but it’s expected to go live in a couple of days. Stay tuned for more info on the subject.
