This attitude, however, cannot be said to extend to the portable HDD market, where the aspect of the product is almost as important as its insides. Knowing this, and aware of how much consumers like variety, Verbatim has unveiled its latest, quite expansive family of portable 2.5-inchers, known as Store 'n' Go.
Along with the increase in maximum throughput that the advancements in the universal serial bus (USB) interface brought along, large-capacity drives started gaining popularity and, quite quickly, USB HDD became top choices when looking for backup and data transportation solutions. This is owed to the very high data capacities that such storage units can reach, even in smaller formats like that of 2.5-inches.
Verbatim built upon this capability and brought about a large collection of units between 250GB and 1TB in storage space. The company then took it upon itself to implement as wide a color variety as possible, so that each purchaser may match its item to his or her own personality.
The Verbatim Store 'n' Go portable 2.5-inch hard drive line comes in black, white, red, orange, purple, two shades of blue, silver and green colors. All of its members work on the USB 2.0 interface, measures 81 (W) x 117 (L) x 16 (H) mm, weighs 135 grams and boasts a 'Green' button, which will automatically or manually set the energy-saving sleep mode. Finally, each versions is bundled with the Nero rescue and Nero BackItUp Essentials and Burn software tools.
The 250GB, 320GB, 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and 1TB Store 'n' Go HDDs from Verbatim cost 59, 69, 79, 89, 99 and 189 Euro, respectively.
