Listening to Internet radio stations while on the go has never been easier

Looks like the people over at Venzero have been on quite a roll lately. Thus, after releasing only a few days ago their FREQ model, the company has decided to also address the increasingly important issue of Internet radio stations' reception and launched at IFA 2007 yet another advanced portable media player, the LINQ, capable of tuning into the broadcasts of the aforementioned stations via its built-in WiFi module.

The LINQ model is, to some extent (and without the FM transmitting functions) a more advanced model of the previous FREQ. Thus, it too has been fitted with a 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen with 262,000 colors and a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, and features a built-in microphone that can be used either for making voice recordings or in order to access the MUSICMARKER function. If you happen to have read the piece on the Venzero FREQ, then you already know that this function allows users to record a piece of a certain song they happen to hear, and then, upon synching with a host computer, Venzero's software automatically identifies the respective tune's title and artist.

However, unlike the previous model, the LINQ has been fitted with a Wi-Fi receiver, which can be used for streaming various music content either from the Internet (Internet radio stations) or from one's own computer, via Windows Media Player 11. Moreover, should the user decide to stream online radios, the device also provides advanced sorting features (genre, country and language).

Another important upgrade compared to the FREQ is related to the available storage capacity. Thus, the LINQ includes a 4 GB built-in NAND Flash memory chip, but also a microSD memory card slot, which works with memory cards up to 2 GB, thus giving the PMP a total storage memory of up to 6 GB.

The Venzero LINQ will be available in September at an estimated retail price of around 200 US dollars / 200 Euro, which is not exactly a very small price to pay for such a device, although it's quite worth it, taking into consideration the numerous features this thing has to offer.
