The device is going to be marketed soon

Soon after announcing another series of PMP and probably in response to Apple's iPod touch, Venzero is introducing its brand new LINQ Mini portable media player.

Regarding the design of the new item, the LINQ Mini features a small screen and more comfortable (and smaller) dimensions than its previous version, the LINQ. On the outside, it's hard not to notice the player's monochrome[ADMARAK=1] 128 x 64 display, which is a little bit out of fashion, but somehow in trend with today's media players that tend to reveal a simplified design and an abstract look.

As for its capabilities, the LINQ Mini can deal with the most common file formats on the Internet, such as MP3 and WMA. It can also support MusicMaker, meaning it can record unknown tunes for labeling. In addition, the portable media player's battery life is said to last up to 20 hours of music playing.

Since size is also important when purchasing a portable music player, Venzero's manufacturers thought that the LINQ Mini should sport 42 x 80 x 9mm dimensions, to fit perfectly in the purse, or in the pocket. Too bad the device only has DAP functionality. There are no video or photo capabilities, whatsoever, and the technical specification list seems to be rather poor.

Among other features, there is also a WI-Fi receiver integrated in the player, meaning the player can stream online radio, and even sort the media content by certain criteria, such as genre, country and language, via Windows Media Player.

If you're wondering how much music you can feed this guy, I should tell you that it supports up to 1GB of Flash memory storage, enough if you're just using it for entertainment. It can be easily charged via the USB or using the built-in lithium-polymer battery. Another major drawback: it works only on Windows OS, sorry Mac users...

The price tag is said to be around 100 bucks a pop, which is a decent price given its 1GB memory; however, there is always room for better. No word on availability yet.
