Once more, a company has entered the spotlight in order to announce that it has developed a tablet PC, in this case another one, as Velocity Micro has only expanded an already existing series of devices, the Cruz that is.

Since practically all market segments are advancing in terms of performance, it is no surprise to hear that slates are as well.

Apparently, more and more tablets end up designed with displays that have higher resolutions than their predecessors, similar to how the insides get better as well.

In the case of Velocity Micro's latest 10.1-inch device, Cruz L510, the screen has a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and is managed by the Tegra 250 chipset from NVIDIA.

Said screen comes complete with the necessary capacitive touchscreen.

The Tegra features a dual-core ARM CPU with a clock frequency of 1 GHz and can handle all advanced multimedia and various games.

Additionally, two webcams are present, placed on the front and the rear, respectively, GPS and eCompass.

What's more, an HDMI output will allow for the streaming of multimedia to an auxiliary display, since watching movies in Full HD on a small screen isn't particularly worthwhile.

Finally, the operating system used on this new Cruz L510 is either Android 2.2 or Android 2.3, an extra bonus being the existence of a pre-installed Kindle app.

For those that do not know, the Kindle app is a software released by Amazon and which handles e-book reading and gives one access to its e-book store.

"Our goal when designing the new generation of Cruz products was to create thin, powerful, and feature rich devices," said Randy Copeland, President and CEO of Velocity Micro.

"With these new Tablets, we've done just that. These are remarkable tablets-- a true extension of our ongoing philosophy to bring functionality and affordability to the mainstream."
