Vanessa Lachey (nee Minnillo) is too busy with her and husband Nick Lachey’s 9-month-old son Camden to stress about losing the weight she gained while pregnant. In fact, she says in a recent interview cited by Us Magazine, her secret to her already toned figure is just that: not stressing.

Speaking about her first pregnancy experience and about motherhood, the TV hostess also sends out a strong message to all new moms out there: you should not be putting pressure on yourself to lose the weight because it will happen naturally.

She’s certainly saying so from experience, since she gained 65 pounds (29.4 kg) while pregnant with Camden.

“I gained, I think, 65 pounds [29.4 kg] when I was pregnant. And I will say to moms out there, ‘Don't stress about losing it. It will happen when it happens’,” the star says.

However, moms should strive to pay very close attention to what they eat, in the sense that they should make sure they only get the healthiest foods possible.

“Cam's 9 months, so it's been a minute, and we're working, and we're traveling, and it's just about maintaining a happy, healthy lifestyle, not obsessing about it,” Vanessa says.

“I think that's one thing I would like to convey to moms everywhere. It's not about this ‘get skinny quick’ diet or these fads. Just enjoy time being a mom. You've just had this wonderful, magical moment, and you shouldn't be stressing about that kind of stuff,” she continues.

Moms should also know they have another important ally in the fight against the extra pounds, not just appropriate nutrition: Spanx.

“Spanx are amazing. Thank you to the inventor of that,” Vanessa laughs.

In the same interview, the TV personality also gushes about her husband, new daddy Nick, whom she describes as a “hot daddy.”
