The Scout might get a remake

Valve has put up a blog entry detailing its plans regarding future developments for Team Fortress 2. There are some changes coming soon, in the following days, and a bigger update planned for early 2009.

The upcoming changes are not huge at all. Engineers will not be able to build up both Teleporters and Dispensers to level 3, which basically means increased effectiveness from both structures. On the other hand, Spies will have the possibility to recharge their cloaking ability by picking up regular ammo packs.

In an effort to deliver more information to players, Valve is also giving the HUD a new look and providing more clues to Medics regarding when they are called to help. Most of the changes that are now coming have been repeatedly requested by fans, so their introduction should make the Team Fortress 2 community really happy.

Valve also says that the Scout is set to receive a complete remake in early 2009, with the clear aim of making him more useful on maps like Dustbowl and Goldrush, which are very popular with players. The idea is that the company wants fans and those who are active in playing the game to head over to the forums and tell them how they can change the Scout in a significant way.

The firm reveals that all the changes made so far to both the characters and the game mechanics are set to be ported to the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2, although there’s no real time frame for the release.

With the recent launch of Left 4 Dead, the cooperative zombie shooter, some TF2 fans were worried that Valve would abandon its outstanding support for the game. It seems that this will not be the case, and Valve even says that a few elements from Left 4 Dead will be implemented in Team Fortress 2.
