On the heels of Apple banning the protective screen film as an accessory sold through its stores, case manufacturers continue to offer their services to future iPad owners. The latest such announcement comes from Vaja, a company that makes high-quality cases for various portable devices, including the iPhone, iPods, and now the iPad.

“At Vaja, our goal is to design and handcraft some of the most stylish leather cases to protect your gadgets and devices while keeping the functionality of the device intact. Our colored and stitched side leather pieces are a perfect valance of form, function and fashion,” a testimony on the company’s website reads. “Each one of our products is handcrafted with extreme care and attention to the smallest detail by the most skilled leather artisans, only using the highest quality Argentine leather,” Vaja adds.

“The constant innovation reflects the company’s unstoppable desire to satisfy the most demanding customers around the world. Always keeping the pace of the changing times. But we also decided to take it further. At Vaja, we feel the process wouldn’t be complete without you, that’s why our customization process becomes an imaginary canvas where you have the chance to express yourself and make it yours in a unique way: your way,” Vaja pledges.

Customization is not yet available for the single iPad case currently being sold by the company, but is likely to be in the future, according to a report by TUAW. The author allegedly owns a Vaja case and is extremely pleased with the design and functionality. The Retro Slim Jacket for the Apple iPad features padded protection, a .925 silver logo, a slim design and a flexible ABS structure, culminating with a magnetic snap closure.

Since the handcrafting process takes a while, the product can only be shipped to you in around 25 days. The company also asks customers to note that it only accepts online orders. On the company’s site, you can sign up to receive an email announcing the release of Vaja iPad cases. Apple is set to release the iPad on April 3rd in the US and later throughout additional territories.
