In typical DirectX 11 spirit, hardware makers have been releasing HD 5450 graphics cards one after another, each one with its custom PCB and small tweaks to clocks and memory. Among the companies that have already introduced their respective products are MSI, Sapphire and HIS, with VTX3D now joining the bandwagon with two models of its own. With memory capacities of 512MB and 1GB, the cards enable “a high definition entertainment from your PC.”

The two models launched by PowerColor's sister brand are the VTX3D HD5450 1GB and the VTX3D HD5450 512MB. They are both built with 80 stream processors, the Cedar graphics processing unit and 1GB and 512MB of memory, respectively. Both cards have equal GPU clock speeds of 650MHz, but their 64-bit DDR3 memory runs at 800MHz (512MB) and 1334MHz (1GB). Other than these differences, the cards have identical specs.

Naturally, as all the AMD-based cards launched over the past few months, the VTX3D HD5450 boasts a full support for DirectX 11 graphics and runs on the PCI Express 2.1 x16 interface. In addition, the ATI Stream technology is capable of parallel processing, reducing the load on the CPU so that the overall PC performance is smoother. Both video adapters have HDMI, DVI and VGA connectors.

“VTX3D HD5450 is a perfect solution for online games and other high definition entertainments of your HTPC,” Willie Huang, sales director of VTX3D, said. “With the support of latest DirectX 11 technology, VTX3D HD5450 enables the amazing entertainment experience, provides the best performance in its class!”

Like the reference card, which AMD launched as a means to cover the low-cost graphics market and to replace the HD 4550, the card is built with the Cedar GPU and is equipped with a passive cooling solution, making it especially suited for HTPCs. Both versions should become available shortly at prices under 60 Euro. Further information may be found on the official product page.
