14 DAY TRIAL // By now, we’ve become accustomed to the idea that an opening monolog at an awards show, be it in film or music, must include a few digs at celebrities. Kevin Hart, host of the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 was no exception.
Though he promised to pick on everybody in the course of the night, it became clear from the opening speech that he wasn’t really going to do so.

It wasn’t as sharp or biting as he aimed to make it sound, but it was certainly entertaining enough.
