VIA Technologies has been making the headlines recently, thanks to a partnership with system builder Dell, which has spawned a new series of energy-efficient servers built on the performance and features delivered by VIA's Nano platform. However, the company now wants to draw your attention to an upcoming event that will take place in Taiwan between June 2-6, and which is known as Computex. According to a recent announcement on the part of the x86 processor maker, visitors at Computex will be given the opportunity to learn more about the customized security solutions integrated into VIA's latest processors.

“VIA is very excited about empowering our customers with a wholly new and more rational security infrastructure” said Daniel Wu, vice president of VIA Embedded, VIA Technologies, Inc. “Our processor platforms have security features embedded in their core and our challenge today is to help our customers get the most out of these features.”

Security is one of the main issues in today's computers, whether we are talking about personal PCs or high-performance server systems. This is one of the main reasons why leading chip makers are trying to provide their latest processors with a number of security solutions integrated into the chip itself. Such is the case with VIA, which claims to be the only company to provide a built-in Advanced Cryptographic Engine with its Nano, C7 and Eden processor families. According to VIA, its integrated cryptographic technology allows for easy and comprehensive security.

VIA also announced that, during Computex 2009, visitors would be able to set their eyes on a number of its other products, including the newly announced Pico-ITXe and Em-ITX motherboard form factors. The company will also showcase the IPRO VP7710 panel PC for kiosk, POI and HMI applications.
