14 DAY TRIAL // After countless leaks and plenty of reports predicting the worse for the new VH1 reality show with LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, VH1 has finally released the official trailer for it – and, this time, it didn’t pull it minutes later.
LeAnn & Eddie premieres on July 17 and, as you can see in the video below, it will be a reality show by the book, despite claims to the contrary from LeAnn some time ago, when she was still trying to convince people that she would not cross over into the reality TV zone she’d made sure she criticized a lot.
Before you proceed to watch the video, we should note that it’s not available in all areas so, chances are, if you’re outside the US, you can’t see it. The second video, from ET, includes some footage from the trailer but, if you’ve watched the videos that leaked so far, you don’t really need to see it.
First off, on at least 3 instances, LeAnn and Eddie make sure to mock his ex-wife / LeAnn’s Arch-nemesis Brandi Glanville. He laughs about her claim that he doesn’t really work, while LeAnn laughs about reports Brandi told the media Eddie has been calling her for “emotional support.” She also calls Brandi an alcoholic in need of an urgent trip to rehab.
Secondly, the show will include a lot of kissing and even more exchanges of “I love you” and “I love you more,” which totally makes sense since its stated purpose is that of showing “haters” just how wrong they are when they claim these two are unhappily married.
There will also be a lot of baby talk: LeAnn is 31 and she wants a kid badly but Eddie is resistant to the idea because he wants to have some more fun first. This wouldn’t be a problem if LeAnn’s mother didn’t have fertility issues which, the singer believes, might have been passed on to her.
There is also a lot of crying, with LeAnn turning on the waterworks when she talks about her baby dreams and when she finds out Eddie is going away for a while on a work assignment.
“LeAnn & Eddie depicts a modern celebrity couple who are madly in love and constantly juggling responsibilities while enduring the harsh tabloid glare. Surrounding LeAnn are her no-nonsense mother, Belinda, and her two best friends, Liz (a total California mom) and Rendee (her long-standing Southern ‘sister’),” VH1 says of the show.
“Other cast members include Eddie’s Cuban parents, Hortensia and Carl, and Eddie’s ne’er do well assistant, Terrell, who may not be the best at his job, but who is certainly entertaining to have around. Whether they’re weathering external pressures, Twitter mishaps, tabloid gossip or domestic squabbling, LeAnn and Eddie always manage to keep each other grounded,” the network adds.
LeAnn & Eddie, which was initially called Eddie and LeAnn and was supposed to be like a comedy series inspired by their life but not necessarily accurate, will premiere on July 17.
Because of the constant negative media attention around these two and their now-desperate attempts to have the final say (even in their feud with Brandi), this series has all the ingredients to be the perfect recipe for a trainwreck. So, will you watch?
