When you talk about cars V8 indicates pure power, but when you turn to computers the V8 from Cooler Master is meant to offer your high-end CPU the optimum working environment. The newly announced CPU cooler has been previously showed at the Computex show in Taipei, but the company decided to wait until now to officially announce it.

The new product has been designed to keep your high-performance central processing units cool all through a hot summer. This monster of a cooler will lower CPU temperature, enabling it to work at high frequencies without any flaws.

The cooling behemoth measures 120 x 128 x 161.1 mm and weighs 865g. The V8 CPU cooler features four aluminum heatsinks which are connected to the copper base via eight 6mm heatpipes. In order to keep the CPU temperature to minimum, those heatsinks are cooled by a 120mm fan that has been placed in the middle of the cooler.

This 120mm fan has riffle bearing and can spin up between 800 and 1800 RPM, which means it will provide an impressive amount of air flow, with a minimum noise level. The fan also sports an adjustable fan speed controller, which can be set to the back of the chassis for manual adjustment. The new V8 CPU cooler has been designed to support Intel's LGA 775 and AMD's 940/AM2/AM2+ socket processors.

The company's new product clearly marks a trend in CPU cooling technology, namely that bigger is better when dealing with the latest high-end CPUs. Once installed, the new cooler will most certainly take a considerable amount of space inside your desktop rig.

Cooler Master's new V8 CPU cooler is expected to hit US stores soon, but European users will have to wait for it until August. Unfortunately, at this point in time there are no details concerning this monster's price tag.
