Just yesterday wireless carrier Verizon confirmed the launch date of their V CAST Mobile TV service in the US. While initially they didn't offer any information regarding the price or coverage area and people expected to find out more just after the actual launch, now it looks like more information regarding the cities it will initially be launched in, pricing and future cities to be covered, has come out.

Reportedly, this is the list of initial launch cities: Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle-Tacoma, Salt Lake City, Spokane, Omaha, Las Vegas-Laughlin, Albuquerque-Santa Fe, Portland, Jacksonville, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Wichita, Kansas City (Missouri), Denver-Boulder, Tucson, and Colorado Springs.

The pricing of the service has been mentioned before, but as a reminder, it will come in three versions, starting with the $15 a month 'Limited' plan to the 'Select' $25 a month plan that includes NBC News, MTV Mobile, Nickleodeon, Comedy Central and Fox Mobile as well as unlimited access to the V CAST service video clips and the mobile web, unlimited airtime for V CAST video, V CAST music, mobile web and Get It Now.

Aside from the areas it will cover initially, in the future the service will also extend to Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans, New York City, St. Louis, and Norfolk-Richmond. Although it's known that the service will become available in the before mentioned areas, there is no information on when it's going to happen.

The service will also feature a parental control option that will allow the blocking of programs by rating. It will apparently debut on Samsung's SCH-u620 and at the moment there's no way to tell what happened to the LG VX9400 that was also announced as being compatible with the service.
