14 DAY TRIAL // A man leaving thousands of dollars in tips in several restaurants and pubs in Utah is becoming a local legend.
Many have speculated that the tipper is Virgin boss, Sir Richard Branson but Jared Allen, co-owner of Alleged, where one of the tips has been left, assures the media that it is not the case.
“Everyone is asking me, ‘Is it Richard Branson? Is it Richard Branson?’ [...] It wasn’t him,” Allen tells the Standard, adding that he gets up to 30 calls a day about the mystery man.
The generous tipper has left $5,000 (€3,746) and $1,000 (€750) tips to his servers in small towns in Utah. The bar owner's story is confirmed by Branson's public relations consultant, Jodi Holmgren.
She explains that she has spend the day with him so he couldn't be the generous patron that everyone is talking about.
