Usher is trying to protect his personal life from being exposed by wife Tameka Foster, report says

Earlier reports had it that R&B star Usher and estranged wife Tameka Foster had actually been separated for almost a year, or a few months minimum, when news of the divorce transpired in the media. As both are still to confirm the separation, court documents filed by Usher just the other day and seen by OK! Magazine reveal that he’s not about to let Tameka get away with his money that easily.

For starters, says the mag, it turns out that the two had indeed been separated for a long time. As a matter of fact, documents filed in court say that they were only married literally for 11 months, which is why now Usher is asking his wife to provide him with a detailed account of her expenses while they were separated. On the bright side, both are asking for joint custody, saying the two children they have together are “entirely dependent” on the other party, which means a custody battle is out of the question.

“‘The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,’ read the documents, filed in Georgia’s Fulton County Superior Court. ‘There is no reasonable hope of reconciliation.’ The documents also reveal that Usher wants a copy of every document his wife kept during their marriage, including the usual tax files, paycheck stubs, bank account information and other financial records, insurance policies, real-estate rental agreements, medical records and automobile registrations.” OK! Magazine writes, saying that the separation occurred in July last year.

However, there is also a strange aspect to the documents in question. Apparently, Tameka, whose insane and uncontrollable jealousy has repeatedly been tabloid fodder throughout their brief marriage, hired a private detective to spy on Usher and, this way, learn whether he was cheating on her or not. Whatever the PI found has not yet been revealed to the court, but, before it is, Usher wants all the documentation secured by being handed over to him.

“He also wants copies of ‘notes, cards, letters, photographs, film, documents, tapes, voice recordings, gift, jewelry, clothes’ or other evidence that reflects on Usher’s conduct during their marriage, as well as detective reports, photos or recordings that have resulted from either ‘surveillance or investigation’ of Tameka’s hubby. […] And just in case Tameka could hide anything, he also wants copies of ‘any and all diaries or personal notes kept… during the course of the marriage’.” the magazine concludes by saying.

As we also informed you a few days back, the first hearing in the divorce proceedings has reportedly been set for July 15. For more on this, do keep an eye on this space.
