The Surface Pro 3 is now the most advanced tablet on the market and Microsoft promises that it can even replace your laptop thanks to high-performance hardware and state-of-the-art portability that makes it easy to carry around.

The Surface Pro 3 is undoubtedly a very powerful device, but the price remains a major setback. Since many users have only gotten the chance to see the device online, we have gone to Microsoft's official announcement to find out what people actually believe about the new Surface Pro 3.

It turns out that most users are totally impressed with the new device, but the price indeed remains a major drawback, especially because the top-of-the-range model costs nearly $2,000 (1,500 euros).

Some of the comments posted by users who watched the “Surface Pro 3 — The Tablet that Can Replace Your Laptop” video posted on YouTube are also pointing to the high price of the device, even though Microsoft has clearly stated that this is a laptop replacement aimed at corporate and power users.

Here are some of the comments we've found online today:

“Surface Pro 3... I want one now! No, actually, make that three... Yeah, that'll do it. So, Microsoft guys... Can I preorder one? Even tho I'm on the right part of the world?”

“The pricing is actually comparable to other new tablets and ultrabooks. Yes it's expensive but it will go down eventually. If you need it you will get it.”

“I agree... It's a great device but too expensive compared to other products with the same service.”

“I've been wanting a tablet that can replace my laptop, but i've always been hesitant to rely on a mobile OS like Android. There are too many applications for Windows that I use for work and personal projects. My hope is that the Surface can be the portable computer that's easily slips in and out of meetings, while being a workhorse when I'm at my desk.”

“I'm more excited for this than the pro 1 and 2 hype i had combined. Only obstacle for me is the price.”

Of course, time will tell whether the Surface Pro 3 is indeed a device that's too expensive, but expect Microsoft to lower the price a little bit in the coming months, as the tablet is released in more markets across the world.
