Consumers are rather disappointed with the tips provided by Microsoft on support forums

If you’re a Microsoft fanatic, chances are that you already know that the first place to go when experiencing issues with a product wearing Redmond’s badge is the Community service, where you can get in touch with the company’s support engineers directly.

The problem is that, in most cases, Microsoft’s staff provides rather vague answers and ineffective instructions, some of which are doing nothing more than to annoy users seeking assistance.

The same happened recently, when tens of customers reported limited Wi-Fi connections after updating to Windows 8.1, with Microsoft suggesting everyone to reset their routers, even though it was pretty clear that there was a problem with the operating system.

In the end, users started expressing their frustrations regarding Microsoft’s responses, and here are some of the messages they posted recently:

“This is horrible response and I've seen it given by other MS engineers. Thousands of people are having this problem since the 8.1 release. I highly doubt all of us had our routers go bad at the same time. Own up to this Microsoft and please fix it. The standard response will not cut it anymore.”

“I want my computer replaced by Microsoft. I spent a lot getting it just right, then I listened to Microsoft’s pressures to upgrade. Don’t tell me they did not know of half the problems that I now have. Try and contact them and you will get nowhere.”

“Sometime it can last for more than 1 hour, but now I am babysitting the intermittent connection. Microsoft is great indeed, us users are so small and stupid.”

“Still nothing from MS on here not even to say sorry but we are working on the problem, because they don't want to admit that there is a problem and a BIG problem at that.”

Of course, Microsoft hasn’t commented on this, but the company has often stated that it wants to get closer to consumes and the recently-released Windows 8.1 improvements are living proof.
