Most of the times a new product is released in a limited edition, it almost immediately becomes a collector's item, many people purchasing it solely due to the fact that only a limited number of such devices have been made available, and, consequently, they have a higher resell value.

And that's also probably the case with the latest limited-edition Tanto headphones released by Urbanears, since they're sure to make quite a few people happy (at least as long as they're fans of the Wired magazine).

This Tanto limited-edition series has been launched in conjunction with an event organized by the famed Wired magazine in New York, the Wired Pop Up Store, and will include just 220 units, each of them being multicolored (as compared to the standard version, featuring a single, solid color).

Constructed at random, each separate component is a different color, and users won’t know what you get until you buy it and open the box.

Apart from their color, the Tanto limited edition headphones are pretty much identical to their standard counterparts, featuring a wired remote and microphone for use with various smartphones (Nokia, HTC, Apple and Blackberry supported), a 40mm driver unit, a frequency response of 20hz-20Khz, a 32 ohm impendance, 112 db sensitivy and 40mW maximum supported input.

Furthermore, they feature a 120-cm/47-inch fabric cord, ending with a 3.5-mm jack.

We'll also have to mention that the microphone, set at 130 mm from the left-hand earpiece, is omni-directional and receives frequencies from 15 hz to 16 kHz, while in the same time featuring a special construction that will enable a high-quality voice reproduction.

Despite of the fact that we're talking about a limited edition here, the multi-colored Tanto headphones from Urbanears are actually fairly affordable, selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 47 US dollars.
