In case you've missed the latest updates from Apple, aside the Mac Pro update for freezing ATI Radeon 2600 Xts and the update for MacBook Air owners experiencing the same issues, the Cupertino-based company has also rolled out a software update for better control of its AirPort Extreme Base Station, AirPort Express Base Station and Time Capsule. AirPort Utility 5.3.1 is now available.

AirPort Utility 5.3.1 for Leopard: wireless networking that works with most Wi-Fi enabled devices, including Mac, PC, iPhone, iPod touch, and more. The 5.3.1 update "includes general fixes and compatibility updates" for AirPort Utility, AirPort Disk Utility and AirPort Base Station Agent.

AirPort Utility 5.3.1 is the setup and management utility for the AirPort Express Base Station, the AirPort Extreme Base Station and Time Capsule. AirPort Utility 5.3.1 for Leopard allows Mac owners to use AirPort Utility to set up and configure the following products: AirPort Express Base Station, AirPort Extreme Base Station and Time Capsule.

Recent updates from Apple include an update for Mac Pro owners experiencing malfunctioning ATI Radeon 2600 Xts. March 7, 2008, saw Apple forums flooded with complaints of graphics freezes. The apparent cause? ATI-based video cards. Apple has released an update for the Mac Pro ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card. System instabilities should be fixed, according to the company. Apple also notes that the update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 with the latest Leopard graphics update.

Last, but certainly not least, MacBook Air owners were happy to see that an update was ready for them yesterday morning, addressing freezing issues. As such, SMC Update 1.0 adjusts the use of your laptop's internal fan. As Apple themselves put it in the update's about-page?: "The SMC Update fine tunes the speed and operation of the internal fan. This update is recommended for all MacBook Air systems."

Back to today's update, AirPort Utility installation only requires you to double-click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
