14 DAY TRIAL // On Saturday, October 17, “Twilight” fans from all over the world will have one more chance at catching a glimpse of yet another new footage from “New Moon,” the second film in the franchise. Spike TV, the network that organizes the annual SCREAM Awards, has just announced that it will make of the sequel somewhat of a centerpiece of the upcoming ceremony, even getting cast members to attend, as HitFix informs.
The announcement doesn’t say whether Spike TV has managed to convince Summit Entertainment, the movie studio behind the franchise, to let go of main stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to attend. However, chances of that happening are slim, especially since the three are currently in Vancouver shooting for “Eclipse,” the third film, and they’re what one may call indispensable at the moment. A good replacement would be, though, members of the Wolf Pack or even of the Volturi, the aforementioned source says.
Be that as it may, fans still have reason to rejoice, as a new segment from the much-hyped film, set to drop in theaters on November 20, will be presented. If previous events of this type are any indication, the footage will show up online in a matter of hours, only to be removed later. Fans not in attendance at SCREAM 2009 need not despair, though, since Summit is believed to release it afterwards on the official website of the film, like it also did in the past.
“The network announced today that the pseudo awards show will feature cast members from ‘New Moon’ as well as the debut of new footage from what is expected to be one of November’s biggest releases. Who will appear from the cast is unclear, but it would be surprising for Summit to drag Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson from Vancouver for the event while they are still shooting ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.’ Our guess? ‘New Moon’ vampire and ‘Underworld’ franchise star Michael Sheen or the members of the Wolfpack (with shirts on for this crowd).” HitFix says of which members of the cast are likely to put in an appearance.
