Are you an Unreal Tournament fan? If the answer is yes, your assistance is needed here. According to VooDoo Extreme, Epic's Steve Polge wants to know if Unreal Tournament fans would like an automatching feature in the next game of the series.

Apparently, he "jumped off the Unreal Tournament 2004" mailing list and sent out this announcement. The mail explained that Epic wants stats and player rankings to be a more important part of the next Unreal Tournament. Furthermore, Epic wants to be able to use player rankings to help players find servers which match their skill level. They probably don't want beginners to mingle and fight each with UT experts. That would probably be humiliating and funny at the same time.

Steve Polge also explains that it's easy to establish the rankings if you control the server and asks what alternative would you prefer. He acknowledges that the UT admin community is crucial to the success of Unreal Tournament 2007, and for this reason, he doesn't want to shut anybody out. Ploge adds that it is possible for the game rankings to be tampered with even without controlling a server if the players "band together". So, what would you prefer?

Unreal Tournament 2007 is set to be released sometime in the first half of 2007, and it will come out on P, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will be published by Midway Games (the ones who published the Mortal Kombat series) and it will be powered by Unreal Engine 3. Until now, only three game modes have been confirmed: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
