Earlier this year, following intense pressure on Britain’s Got Talent, Susan Boyle, the Scottish singer that conquered the entire world even before she had a single, let alone an album, out in music stores, was admitted to London’s The Priory mental clinic, suffering from exhaustion. Since then, Miss Boyle has been saying she learned how to deal with fame but, according to a new piece in the Daily Mail, she is anything but that.

Susan, nicknamed the “Angel” by her fans, is not only not prepared for a life in the spotlight, but she also continues to be at a loss as to what to do when she’s at the center of people’s attention. While in New York, for instance, where she managed, over just a few days, to have everybody in the palm of her hand, she had a sort of a mini-breakdown at a CD signing. Photos show the singer wiping her eyes and sucking on her thumb, evidently distressed.

Because of this, she will return home to Scotland around Christmas time, which means after she’s done promoting her first album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” the Mail says after getting confirmation from the singer’s camp. “[Boyle] is making plans to leave the London flat where Simon Cowell and his team taught her how to be a star. Susan is also relinquishing her gym membership and chauffeur driven BMW. She won’t need a housekeeper any more, and she doesn’t care that much for her expensively decorated flat, with its granite kitchen surfaces and cream walls. […] Come Christmas, she will have finished with her commitments to Sony to plug her product, and will move back in permanently,” the British publication writes.

Susan Boyle has repeatedly claimed that fame has not changed her in any way and that’s perhaps because she never quite meant it to last longer than it already has. She will sing, because that’s what she always wanted from life, but she will not become what we, the public and the industry, understand by a pop star, the Mail further argues. Instead, she will live in self-imposed seclusion in her home town, only to come out whenever she’s needed and not more.

“Home is the one in Blackburn that she grew up in, and that is the home she wants to live in. She will not be buying a house in London. Her London pad, which is rented, is convenient for the time being. Because of Susan being in London to work on the album she has been splitting her time, but she will be back in Scotland very soon, with Pebbles,” Susan Boyle’s PR, Nicola Phillips, says for the Mail.
