Last week, Softpedia reported that Rovio had released new updates to Angry Birds for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, adding 15 new levels, and a new golden egg.

The developer took this opportunity to also announce that fans of the game would be able to find a hidden clue in the Rio Movie Commercial set to air during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl.

The clue would allegedly allow players to unlock a special level of Angry Birds, the developer said.

The movie trailer is now out, with the clue identified, and detailed for those who want to unlock this special stage.

According to an ex-TUAW blogger, uncovering the special golden egg is done by doing a few gimmicks in a certain stage, with a certain bird.

Specifically, users must:

1. go to level 13-12 2. shoot a white bird backwards 3. drop an egg

TUAW notes that performing this ritual will reward the Angry Birds player with a football-shaped golden egg.

Furthermore, completing the level gives the player the opportunity to enter a contest to attend the Rio premiere.

Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finnish development studio Rovio.

Since its release for Apple's iOS platforms, over 10 million copies of the game have been purchased.

The title is also available for other touch-based smartphones.

“The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake,” goes Rovio’s iTunes description of Angry Birds. “Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds’ eggs.”

“Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs’ fortified castles. Angry Birds features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. Each of the 210 levels requires logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy,” Rovio notes.
