23-year-old Daniel Stratman, of Omaha, has pleaded guilty to one count of fraud in connection to computers after hacking into the systems of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and accessing the details of over 650,000 students, parents, alumni, employees and applicants.

Stratman, a former student of the educational institution, was first charged with hacking back in December 2012. In June 2013, a dozen additional counts were added after investigators discovered that UNL wasn’t the only organization affected by the breach.

According to the Journal Star, the man has made a deal with prosecutors. Stratman has pleaded guilty to one fraud count and agreed to pay restitution for the damage he had caused. In return, the prosecution will recommend a maximum of two years in prison.

Under normal circumstances, the hacker faced up to 10 years in prison. He will be sentenced on March 21, 2014.
