Some time ago, when YouTube signed the deal with Chelsea FC, NBA and BBC, the company created separate channels for the firms especially meant to offer their content. Now, YouTube designs similar websites for universities, the first one being Kansas State University. The channel was revealed one month ago and recorded 139 views for the first video uploaded, the representatives of the university being really excited by the product. The website provides instant access to the latest news concerning the campus as well as the important event.

"Dr. Hannah is an innovator who is constantly looking for creative ways to engage students' minds. When he told me about this idea, I thought it was a perfect way to reach beyond our usual circle of influence, speak the language of today's students, and try to increase enrollment," said David Swisher, media services coordinator for K-State at Salina Continuing Education, according to TheMercury.

As you know, the company created separate channels on YouTube to provide quick access to the videos provided by the deals. Take the example of the partnership with BBC that is meant to create 3 new websites on the online video sharing service: two of them meant to display entertainment clips while the other one will show the latest news made by BBC.

Although it's not quite clear how a company can get its own channel on YouTube without signing a deal with the company, the search giant improves the online video sharing service periodically with new subdomains. The latest announced channel was especially built to attract bishops, representing a move meant to lure the same category of users as GodTube, a service similar to YouTube, aiming to attract Christians on the official page.
