Zipper Interactive and Sony have just presented some more details about Unit 13, a tactical shooter that will arrive on the PlayStation Vita at the beginning of March, as well as a new gameplay video.

The PlayStation Vita is getting ready to make its debut at the end of next month and Sony will support the new handheld device with a variety of games, ranging from high quality ones like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, to all new titles like Little Deviants and many more.

Among the games that will appear shortly after the Vita, there is Unit 13, a tactical shooter coming from Zipper Interactive, the developer of MAG or SOCOM 4 on the PlayStation 3.

We saw a video of Unit 13 late last year and now the studio has actually given a release date for the game, which is out on March 6, in the U.S., and March 7, in Europe. Check out an official description below, straight from Zipper and Sony.

“For those of you unfamiliar with Unit 13, there are four main mission types. ‘Direct Action’ refers to larger, multiple objective missions which reward tactical play. ‘Deadline’ are medium sized missions where you race against the clock and speed is rewarded over tactics. “

“Elite are small to medium sized missions with no health regen or check points and players are rewarded for taking as little damage as possible. Finally, Covert missions require you to infiltrate locations without being spotted by the enemy. It rewards players for remaining unseen and additional bonuses are given for leaving enemies alive. If you’re spotted, you have a few seconds to recover… if you can eliminate the alerted enemies fast enough. Each game type has unique scoring rules, so make the best use from the six available operatives and their equipment.”

All of these missions can be played either alone or through the local cooperative mode, while extra missions can be unlocked and shared via the PlayStation Vita’s Near function.

“With 36 missions playable in single player or co-op, along with dynamic versions of those missions; plus nine HVT missions to unlock and share via near; six different operatives; 10 levels per operative that unlock new abilities, weapons and equipment; plus the daily challenge missions and leaderboards for all 36 single player and co-op missions, we predict that Unit 13 will keep you busy for a very long time,” Zipper Interactive revealed.
