Director Quentin Tarantino promises “Kill Bill” fans a surprise with the release of the uncut DVD edition

The epic “Kill Bill,” as most fans must know by now, was never envisaged as two halves of a whole, but as a single bloody adventure, as it also premiered at Cannes. However, the movie studio decided that, as such, it would be too long and would probably not warrant the massive investments it got. Luckily, Tarantino has just confirmed, fans will get to see the uncut version on DVD – plus an extra chapter that will be added to it.

A few weeks ago, Tarantino confirmed to several media outlets that a special DVD edition of the film was in the making, “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.” As is customary with the renowned director, time flew by and he seemed to have forgotten his promise to fans, which is why the guys at InfoTarantino made contact with him for confirmation if the special edition was still a go. What they got as an answer could definitely be described as good news: yes, it is, and it also brings a new chapter.

“We’ve actually added some things to it. We did a whole little chapter that I wrote and designed for the animated sequence, that we never did, because we figured, back when it was gonna be one big movie, it was going to be too long, so we didn’t do it. So when we were talking about re-releasing it, they asked is there anything you can put in, and I said no I put everything in there, but… there’s one sequence that we wouldn’t even have to shoot! So we got together with Production IG and did it, and it’s really cool. So it’s this little seven minute sequence, it’s really cool, it’s in the O-Ren chapter.” were Tarantino’s exact words on the upcoming edition.

Useless to say, this bit of information has already gotten fans excited about the prospect of finally seeing that movie that Tarantino wanted them to in the first place. Moreover, by getting it on DVD, whether one is willing to spare so many hours of one’s life to see it becomes a matter of choice. All in all, as several movie-oriented publications are pointing out, this is clearly a win-win situation.

With all this, despite the abundance of details that Tarantino offered on the extra sequences, he failed to reveal a release date as well. Meanwhile, fans of “Kill Bill” will just have to wait patiently.
