Uncharted 4: A Thief's End might be the last entry in the franchise, or at least the last title made by developer Naughty Dog, according to Nolan North, the voice actor behind series protagonist Nathan Drake.

Uncharted 4 was finally revealed and detailed, somewhat, at E3 2014 this week by publisher Sony and developer Naughty Dog. It got a subtitle, A Thief's End, and a touching trailer that set the stage for a "one last score" situation in which protagonist Nathan Drake enlists the help of his longtime partner, Sully, for a foolproof job.

Seeing as how the general premise might hint at a conclusion to the adventures of Drake and his friends, IGN talked with voice actor Nolan North about his work so far and he revealed that, at least to him, A Thief's End looks to be the final chapter in the series.

"It’s bittersweet but at a certain point you want to go out on top," North said. "If this is the last one indeed, and I believe it’s the last one - nothing’s confirmed, but I believe it’s the last one Naughty Dog wants to do, in which case I hope somebody else doesn’t pick up the mantle because they’ve done it so well for so long - but yeah, it’s one of those things where you just have to cross that bridge when you get to it."

While work is still underway on the new game for the PS4, North mentioned that things are looking pretty good right now and it's set to be the high point for the series so far.

"I like the idea of going out on top so we better do a hell of a job with this one… and it’s already looking pretty good."

As of yet, naughty Dog hasn't talked about the story in Uncharted 4 and, considering it's set to appear in 2015 on PS4, don't expect to hear any concrete details just yet.

The Uncharted series, which saw three installments on PS3 and one for the PS Vita, has already taken protagonist Nathan Drake through plenty of adventures and the last major one, Drake's Deception, certainly hinted at an end for his treasure hunting odyssey.

It's also worth pointing out that Uncharted 4's developer is now led by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann, the same duo behind last year's The Last of Us, and they have experience telling serious and often tragic stories.
