Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was one of the most interesting titles launched in late 2009, with developers Naughty Dog and publisher Sony managing to put together a very exciting action adventure story that revived interest in PlayStation 3 exclusive titles. And it seems that enough players are still enjoying the multiplayer element of the game to warrant a new update from Naughty Dog, labeled 1.09, which is set to launch today worldwide.

The 1.09 Update is set to introduce changes that allow the developers at Naughty Dog to package character voices with skins for characters for the multiplayer mode, which hints at more downloadable content from the studio that will introduce new full characters that might even come with story elements attached. Uncharted 2 received some new content for the multiplayer element of the game but there was nothing with a clear narrative that could bring back players who were more interested in working towards an objective than just killing other players for cash and fame.

Naughty Dog is also talking about changes made to limit the player's ability to use exploits in order to get ahead in multiplayer matches and eliminated the ability that players used to perform a longer than normal throw of the treasure in the Plunder game mode. Other changes include increasing the cash awarded to players when they perform a kill in the Elimination game mode to 750 dollars and introduces a way for the developers to tweak the cash earned for various medal at any time.

Naughty Dog is saying that a LiveData update will be launched to change the cash amounts for values to the following new amounts:

Tip Off – $1,000 Captured – $4,000 That’s Embarrassing – $10,000 Protectorate – $2,000 No Cigar – $2,000 Drop It – $1,000 None Shall Pass – $5,000 Expansionist – $5,000
