Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of a Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphone without having to sign up for a contract agreement with one of the local carriers can now pre-order the device SIM-free and unlocked.

The latest flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone from Nokia is available for reservations through third-party retailers Clove UK and Unlocked Mobiles, with a price tag of £549.98 ($892/€656) attached to it.

The handset is available with 32GB of internal memory, while the price tag includes VAT, which makes it an appealing option, as WPCentral notes.

Various color options are also available for the large mobile phone, with Clove offering it in Black and White, and Unlocked Mobiles having it up for pre-orders in Black, Red, White and Yellow.

Recently, Nokia has announced that its new mobile phone will arrive on shelves in the UK on December 6, and has said that two retailers promise to deliver the Black version of the handset on that day too.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Nokia Lumia 1520 was made official last month with a large 6-inch full HD touchscreen display, as well as with a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the smartphone features 2GB of RAM inside, along with the aforementioned internal memory, and a microSD to allow users to add some more storage space to it.

The smartphone features a 20-megapixel camera on the back, with Dual LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization and support for full HD video recording, as well as a front camera for making video calls.

Lumia 1520 was made official with the usual set of connectivity capabilities packed inside, including 4G LTE support, WiFi and Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and NFC. The handset is powered by a 3400mAh battery that can deliver up to 25.1 hours of talk time on 3G networks.

To reserve an unlocked Nokia Lumia 1520 in the UK for delivery next week, head over to any of the two retailers. You can also access Nokia’s website to get a £20 ($32/€24) apps voucher that’s good for purchases in the Windows Phone Store.
