It appears that not all companies feel the need to deliver lengthy press releases upon the completion of so-called high-profile products, at least this is what VIZIO seems to have shown now that its 65-Inch 3D TV has shown up on its website.

While cinemas are able to make do with many sets of passive polarized glasses when running 3D films, most TVs with support for 3D don't have this luxury.

In fact, the larger part of them employs active shutter glasses, which are far more expensive than the aforementioned type.

Now, VIZIO added a certain display to its website which not only supports passive glasses, but does so while bringing a significant set of other benefits to the equation.

One thing is that it has a screen diagonal of no less than 65 inches, of which 64.5 are actually viewable.

The second asset is the Lit Razor LED backlighting with Smart Dimming, which has the LEDs placed on the edge of the screen.

The image quality is also quite high, and this obviously extends to more than just the 120 Hz refresh rate necessary for the 3D mode itself.

For one, the native resolution is of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, which basically means all qualities of video up to Full HD are supported.

Additionally, VIZIO gave the panel a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and a brightness of 450 nits, plus viewing angles of 178 degrees both horizontal and vertical.

The information sheet also says that the screen can display 1.07 billion colors and has a response time of 5ms.

Other specifications include support for SRS TruSurround HD, SRS TruVolume, a pair of 15W speakers and even 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet.

As for actual video input, there are five HDCP-ready HDMI ports on the side, as well as three USB 2.0 connectors and an HD gameport. As for outputs, there is a 5.1 Optical Digital Out (SPDIF) and an analog audio out.

VIZIO will have to actually make the official announcement before availability details become known but, until then, all other info, including the price of $3,699, can be found on the product page.
